Bright Lights Series books are a set of graduated stories for middle grade readers, nine and up. From short stories to a final novel (planned but not yet published), the series follows main characters DeShaun (A Dying Breed) and Jasmine (Not So Princess Jasmine) from elementary school through high school. In Not So Princess Jasmine, Volume 1 Jasmine is a young woman using her intelligence and adaptability to create a world where she can thrive. Her teachers and classmates don’t make it any easier, having escaped urban life for the sanitized suburban life her parents wanted her to have.
